But will novidia drop prices on GTX1070?

A Vega 56 with Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Tom Clancy's The Division 2 for £249 / €285?? If that isn't an awesome deal, I don't know what is...

A very bad sign. if Navi was close they wouldn't have done that...

True, but if reduced some competition and price pressure. Will be interesting to see 1660 results and prices. I need to upgrade from 970 and price point has been too high up to now. Been waiting forever it seems =, shame navi looks like late summer.

I think that's a good move, Vega 56 is a nice card with nice performance for those who look to upgrade from older generations like 290X - like in my case. Maybe Vega 64 will see a price drop also sometime soon, who knows. I'm looking to buy one of them so hoping this price cut will take effect in my region...

Just curious: with 285 EUR price of Vega56, which is near 1070Ti performance-wise, and having a 3 AAA game bundle, what makes you between the Vega56 and the 1660, which will probably have ZERO game bundled (or maybe a choice of BFV/Anthem, but I'm unsure about that).

I can tell you why I will never get a Vega GPU. 2 things: Noise and heat. the Vega cards are well known to be extremely loud and produce quite a lot of heat. not something I would want even if the performance is solid.

They'll just drop the 1070 entirely =p

^ Agree, the 1660 replaces it. @HardwareCaps - Undervolting the Vega 56/64 (and not buying a reference card) helps out with noise a lot.

Or you can get reference card and get a water block and get rid of heat and noise 🙂

And destroy the price/performance of the card in the process! To buy a Vega 56 + a custom water loop for it, it will be better buying a more performing card with the same money.

For me in summary at the time the 970 was the nearly perfect card, apart from it's 3.5GB memory. No perfect card now, as people mention VEGA is a bit hot and power hungry, but has a good bundle and price. We will have to see what 1660 is like and price. I was hoping for Navi to be the perfect card, not sure I can wait another 6 months. Maybe the 7nm nvidia mainstream will be best. I am just getting to be tired of waiting. The 970 has lasted well, still just about good enough at the 2560x1600 I use. It gets Crysis at 60fps ! 😛 Far Cry 5 suffers though a bit. It's had a good run though. I am neutral when it comes to nvidia or amd, just looking for a product that suits me. I am not mega rich and only play 2/3 hours per week, so just an average buyer.

Thats a geat deal indeed. Now rx590 also needs a drop in price to match a 1660 non ti.

Based upon my experience, the Vega 56 is neither hot nor loud, even with the Reference model. (I own one flashed with the Vega 64 bios.)

Last info said September or October for Navi. They also need to get rid of Vega stock, so it's just normal.

After the "info" about October came another one with talked about July. so I'm not sure. if October rumor is true, it's a massive blow, AMD promised Navi on H2 of 2019.

October is in the second half of 2019....

Wow 285 euro. In Romania even the cheapest used one is 330. New, if you can find the one is more like 450 euro sadly.

Navi was actually originally a 2018 product.... they delayed it a couple of time already...

Not enough 7nm volume production in 2018, so it wasn't even up to AMD. It might still be a big issue for mainstream products. It would be kind of lousy to have only a few dozen cards per country (in selected countries exclusively) when launching affordable products for the masses.
