Cool - wanna see some more dev talk on this tech.

This is the perfect tech to push us to buy the high end cards, but in games does not make a big difference, stop this scam and give us photorealistic games i mean work on graphics and physics not shadows 😡

Apparently its possible. Consoles will do it they have amd tech.

yeah but it's very, very limited usually quarter res with lots of effects disabled

So doing Nvidia anyways DLSS and upscaling. Funny. AMD is doing things and people still hate on them. AMD will never have a true playing field in gpu land with nvidiots amuck.

not talking about game resolution but ray traced reflection/shadow resolution.

lol. no one is hating amd, their RT accelaration is just weaker on HW level.it's a fact. 22:50 onwards [youtube=TENcL4N8B1Q] with higher performance hit than nvidia's card and no image reconstruction technology, they can't do what nvidia can do. I don't think anyone bought rx6000 card FOR ray tracing.more like they bought one despite ray tracing.

Let's wait and see how exactly they do this. If it turns out its bs like Dirt 5 with it's broken RT, then, they can forget it. However, if it runs well on both sides, with a nod to Nvidia on the RT side, then, they've done their job. One thing I like about Cyberpunk 2077 is that they implemented tech from both sides, despite being an Nvidia sponsored game.

Considering he stated an objective fact, and not something argumentative at all about AMD... I would say its you who is the clear misguided fanboy.

Will be interesting to see the advantage nVidia retains in RT when a game is optimized for AMD hardware.

Why is it than when something runs well on nVidia but not on AMD it's all AMD fault with bad drivers etc but when the opposite happens it's all the developer of the game fault? Why those old RT games specifically made with RTX in mind and never tested nor optimized on AMD hardware are any different than Dirt 5???

I'm betting on fidelityFX being a miracle, from what I've seen microsoft is helping them get that done, ideally it could allow the series S to reach 1440p more often, that would mean big trouble for sony, and excellent news for pc, AMD is often much better at the lower end, where DLSS-like tech would make the biggest difference
data/avatar/default/avatar33.webp
it is hard to tell the difference if done right using old techniques

Waiting on a 7080 xt, well.... at least the pictures and specs when released. hehe..... Not my time of game, but excited to see this tech.

The current AMD GPUs are showing less RT HW accelerated capability than the first gen RTX cards.... so how the hell are they going to support this? I predict it will be a very limited, "burly notice its on" kind of setting....

More than just RT shadows? That's a first, shadows are the only things ever allowed in AMD titles before, because something that actually makes a difference, like reflections, causes a 6800/6900XT to implode. RT capability was an afterthought on the current Navi implementation or AMD are just incompetent, it's one or the other. More than just shadows for once... I'll believe it when I see it.

We won't see any RT on AMD until we see it on consoles. And i doubt it will be something big. No user of rx6800 bought it with RT in mind. Like i said, RT this generation is gimmick, we need another 2 generations of gpus

It's on the consoles, just very unimpressively done... and at 30 fps at best. It might be 2 generations before RT is really worth thinking much about, but as it stands the RT reflections (when implemented well) are transformative enough that I'd take a 3080 over a 6800 XT given the choice, despite the joke 10GBs of inevitably restrictive RAM.
