Now if those 45% are true then that means that DX11 is even worse crap than everybody thought.. Please let it be true. The move to 4K could be so much easier with this

Mantle is meant to bring the load directly to GPU, so that CPU does not bottleneck the GPU. So maybe in case of slow CPU, the performance could increase that much. Maybe an comparison on a C2D with R9 290X with and without Mantle. I would like Mantle to succeed, so we wouldn't have to buy a new Windows to get the latest DirectX features. But this brings up the question if you need to buy a new graphic card, to get the future features of Mantle like with the DirectX?

Before everyone starts running out to buy AMD stock, keep in mind the 45% figure comes not from Battlefield, but Oxide Games’ Starswarm demo - a 64-bit engine test first shown in December that attempts to fill space with thousands of ships on-screen at once. And it doesn’t apply to just any generic AMD card - rather the A8-7600, a new APU from the Kaveri line the manufacturer is showing at CES. A very expensive AMD card. http://www.pcgamesn.com/sites/default/files/amd%20mantle%20api%20demo%202.jpg

around the 31:10 mark he says that bf4 is up to 45% faster than the original version e: also the screen youve posted shows a 200%+ increase in performance in the starswarm demo

I don't think mantle will give a 45% Boost in BF4.Single Player is very GPU Bound not Cpu compared to Multiplayer so i would expect much Better FPS from there demo.Anyone know what Resolution it was Rendered in?

SP is also cpu bound just like MP, because it has to render more scripts. And this 45% boost is quite simple, look at that video when they switched from dx11 with min 59fps to Mantle with min 87fps >> made ~47% boost. . I think it was Ultra mode, 4xaa, probably at 1440p or 1080p.

Mantle allows for more draw calls than DirectX does, which in itself has the potential to greatly increase performance. Mantle is supposed to be considerably less CPU dependent than DirectX is, so even multiplayer should become (properly) GPU bound...
