The one thing i'm shocked about is they must of known that the X3D technology is a very strong gaming performer so why not put it on all 7000 series chips?
Makes no sense to me why they didn't just go for the same tech again first and then maybe down the line just the normal chips.
Of course 7000 series isn't gonna sell that well when people need a whole new system to jump to AM5.

Sadly, we're still some ways away from the peak crazy prices of the QX9775 days. Remember the QX9755? It was $1499.

I can take the CPU costs, but combined with RAM and motherboard it's just too much.
Not that I'd even notice the difference at this point but..

It Seems that Intel 13900k will be priced right between 7900X and 7950X. If it beats 7950X with the same 32 thread count, in most benchmarks. Then AMD has to reduce prices, to stay competive.

The strategy of market on this new 7000 series was clearly to sell it first, and then force people to buy that same series with 3D V-cache after a short time.

I knew this was coming. Intel wasnt going to just give up, funny that youngsters thought Intel was DONE or something LMAO. Before Ryzen, you got laughed at for having an AMD system. So im not surprised one bit that Intel came back and smacked AMD down, just like the did years ago with the Core2Duo line. Also, AMD no longer has the huge advantage of using the same socket. Competition is good but i expect Intel to pull ahead with futher generations just like theyve always done. Im using a 5900x system at the moment but strongly considering ditching AMD and finally going back to Intel

My father still using happily an athlon 3400 fm2 socket with Radeon 6400 build in on Windows 7 4gb ram (deep freezed) I anounced him that I will soon set him up with my ryzen 1600 16gb ram and a Radeon 7850 .....and he just asked me ...why ...his PC works good still he said 🙂 .... Well for some football steams with ace reading news and light YouTube .... Indeed it is still covering his needs ..... If I had to tell him he needs to pay 200 to get a faster PC he would have laughed me out of the door.
Ps: all the hardware I am giving or buying for my father I give it to him for free.

Beside market situation, etc it is also a very poor executive decision from AMD: they KNOW that they have a powerful CPU for gaming in 5800X3D, even they say that there will be 3D cache variants of Ryzen 7XXX next year and they expect you to buy this series right now...Why? Better to wait for next year when hopefully motherboard prices and RAM will be lower and buy a supposedly better CPU.
They should also pray for lower DDR 5 RAM prices because as it is right now it's quite bad. The fact that I can keep my expensive kit of 3600 Mhz CL14 DDR4 memory and just buy an Intel CPU and motherboard instead of the whole AMD package is again bad for them.
Dropping DDR4 support for good was another bad executive decision from them. Too many errors and with the current economical situation they simply can't get away with this.

Because upgrading your current platform is a far cheaper option than upgrading to an entirely new platform (AM5)..

Tbh if one had to upgrade to a new platform zen 4 makes way more sense then raptor lake. Since it has future whilst raptor lake is the last hurrah of that platform.
That is what my friend did. Didn't see any benefit going and waiting for Intel. Since the new platform is far away

Let me tell you why I will not buy this platform.
CPU
The price is quite high even though the performance gain can justify
the price increased but the inflation is very high and you will need to folk
out a lot of money to buy other necessary components.
MB
It's very expensive but necessary in order to use this platform.
DDR5
I need to buy new DDR5 which the price is still very expensive
and the technology is not yet to matured like DDR4. It will take around
1 more year for it to mature. Unlike when I upgraded from Ryzen 3000 to
5000, I still can use back my old DDR4 which save me quite some money.
SSD (Optional)
PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD is not yet available in the market. I know PCIe 5.0 is not
really necessary for the real world usage but If I want to spend that
kind of money on CPU, RAM, and MB then I might as well get something
that can utilize my system capability to its full potential. I don't want to install
PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD then migrate to the new PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD later.
PSU (Optional)
ATX 3.0 PSU is around the corner and new GPU starting to demand it.
If I want to upgrade everything then I will as well replace the PSU to ATX 3.0.
If my system is stable then I don't like to touch it and cabling management is
a nightmare job.
AM5 1st Gen Platform
I had a bit of hassle when the new AM4 just launched before it became stable.
I would sit back and wait a bit longer and to see the new platform situation
before I jump ship to this platform.

As for me I am seeing what Intel and AMD have in 2 years of time out. Since I am gaming on almost 4K my best option is to upgrade GPU before that. But that is pretty much all I need to do.
