Very good news. Have been a little worried AMD wont make the long game which is needed to get into the server market. Hopefully AMD will stay competitive to Intel for years to come.

And this includes the downturn in the crypto market and Zen+ merely doing okay. Can't wait to see what Zen 2 will do (I'll probably upgrade then - I'd love to have the first 7nm CPU).
It's amazing to consider that only a year ago AMD was still making a loss. A strong turnaround indeed.

I'm so glad for AMD to be making a profit for the 2nd quarter in a row. Good to see them standing strong again. I just hope for them that they can maintain a steady growth going forward.
We finally have healthy competition back on track and we consumers can bennefit from it again. Now they must just get those GPUs fine tuned and we have all round great competition.
This surely is good times for anyone looking at building a new PC.

OK, so AMD is still on schedule for 7nm.
Intel has had, what 14nm++++++++++ because they just keep refreshing tech for half a decade?

Except it is slowing down in the future:

Stroke of luck for AMD that it came out at the height of the mining boom.
Only slightly faster than 1080, slightly more expensive, but more power hungry than a 1080ti.

Congratulations AMD! Please keep it up, I wish you the best.
And come on guys, AMD has earned it, be honest. AMD was "not noteable" for the last ... how many ... about 10 years or something like that? They violated PCIe specs for their GPUs (too much power draw I think on those RX480 (?) models back then) and their CPUs were too "bad" of everything. Too hot, too much power draw, too little performance. Only the price was appealing, if at all.
Today AMD is "back to life", their CPUs rock again (and from what I see are not so affected by the latest security issues), GPUs are mostly on par with the "upper NVIDIA models" and if you argue about the price: AMD has V56 and V64 in place as its current generation. NVIDIA has 1030, 1050 in dozens of types, 1060 (3GB & 6GB), 1070 (+ti), 1080 (+ti) and Titan Xp and V. AMD positions its cards between 1070 and 1080, their iGPUs play catch with the lower discrete models.
OK, AMD is still far from perfect, but it is competable again at least. So give 'em some honor for that. Be fair.

Bad, but not as bad as the guy who spent 10,000 BTC on a pizza LOL.
