This card will available to pre-order on our website this afternoon with the first units shipping this Friday. Once the drivers are freely available (hopefully also Friday) this and any other GTX980's we can get our hands on will be added to our custom PC options.

mine gtx 780 did 4774 on extreme at 1ghz,so it doesnt look to be much of a upgrade for me so far. i wonder what the 980 will do

It may hit around 6k i guess , but i'd wait to see how games perform in comparison. 780 is no way out of the game just yet. BTW it's raining news 😀 On neo-gaf there is picture with price tag of $519 for 970 , but looks like its AUD not USD. I checked and it equals to 350EUR so i guess its happening

Anyone notice DX12 on the box and 0db fan mode looks like these suckers run really really cool. It would of been insane if they where both single slot cards(yes I know they are not). Still as cool as 0db is I rather they have double the power req and be mega powerful I am on water so the cool new heat and fan req don't matter to me but I am sure a lot will appreciate it. So does this mean DX12 will be out this year for the PC I heard it was early 2015 just for the XB1?

It does not mean that card will have full support to DX12. And a lot of currently used cards will have similar/same DX12 feature set working.

It's pretty amazing to see only 2x 6pin connectors on such a high end card. Maybe the 1080(if they use this numbering system) will only have one x 8 pin or something. Imagine having an sli or quad sli even with a power supply under a k. Mad.

The Gainward card. Is that a mesh type screen that can be slid out for cleaning? Or maybe a hatch type door that you can open, then remove the screen while its still in the pc?

If the price is right I may "upgrade" to 970 or 980, I could get decent amount of € from my current card. I wouldn't mind getting cooler and quieter card even though this Asus is really nice (idle fan speed is a bit too high).

Was going to buy the 970 with a GTA V bundle but seeing as the game has been delayed I won't be buying until January at the earliest. A little more time to see where the land lies with any future Ti variants 🙂
