The 1660ti looks like it could be interesting if priced well, not sure about the non-ti versions, they look more like a rehash of the 1060 instead of a new turning chip. be interesting to see reviews however and price/performance ratios

the 1660Ti is rumored to be at 280$ and performance around the 1070 while having 6GB instead of 8GB.
the only savior for Turing is that Navi seems to be far off into 2019....

1660ti 280$
rx590 260$
1660 230$
rx580 180$
Mid range competition until Navi replaces Polaris.

1060... 2060... 1660

Only thing I don't understand, why not name it 2050, because that's clearly what it is, why 1660?

But they could name it GTX 2050 and GTX 205o Ti.
On the other hand TU116 just fits to be named 1160.

The geek side of me is really interested in seeing the review of the GTX 1160. With nearly identical specs to the 1060, it will be great for comparing the performance of the two architectures.

If 1660 exists, what will the next generation be called? 1760?`
I would really like an explanation to the naming decision.

Too bad for me the final specs of AV1 codec isn't out yet for final implementation into cards. That was the reason I got a GTX960 ( full H265 support ). Now why I got a 1060, don't ask, don't tell. But a 1160 with Hardware Support for AV1 that would be something to consider, since this codec is a collaboration of almost all big companies.
Nevermind anyway. Let's enjoy the 1060 a bit. It's as if I'm throwing money out of the window lately. Even Got an ASUS Z390 Gaming Plus, an i5 8500 and an SSD Samsung 860 ( had already two 850 ). Meanwhile my previous CPU ( i5 4690 ) was way more than enough for my games/movies/series etc. The i5 8500 single thread performance only increased by 12%. Obviously the multithreading only worth it, 57%. At least the Z390 supports 9th gen CPUs. I'll get the i7 9700 no matter what.
