Micro$haft might not have been the force it is today if the CP/M developer had just been willing to give up a round of golf to give an IBM boss a demo of his operating system about 30 years ago. Bill Gates' OS was the only competition available at the time, and he was more than willing to accommodate this guy. The rest is history. 🙂

The real business is and most part of the revenue comes from the OEM licences, as it has been since the first IBM-PC and DOS 1.0

I can't believe my eyes, it worked! Windows 8 desktop is nice, shame about the missing start menu (no I don't want to install 3rd party programs). Back to good ol' 7 😀

Yes, I'm well aware of this. No doubt Bill Gates is a good guy. He's paid millions to charity so I respect him.
millions? Try billions....(more like $10billion+...)

It's the best ever 🙂 Funny thing though, exploiting Media Center to gain Win 8 activation, because Media Center was bitch to install for many legitimate users.

Disagree. Microsoft Security essentials is the biggest pile of $hit I've ever seen & used, completely worthless... And what about the Xbox? It was hacked almost immediately after being released, piracy is pretty high with regards to xbox games.
really lol? it gets pretty good reviews or are all those paid by Microsoft?

Its detection rate is pretty low. In this test, it came 21st out of 22 tested. http://www.pcworld.com/article/259876/antivirus_on_windows_8_looking_at_your_options.html
To compare the protection strength of Security Essentials to that other free and paid antiviruses, you can refer to AV-Test's website for its latest testing results. Those results, at this writing, show that Security Essentials provides great malware repair and removal: placing third, just behind Bitdefender and Kaspersky. But the program's results for malware detection are much worse: It placed 21st in a field of 22.
It cant repair malware if it doesnt detect it.
