That's great news, gameplay clips will be a lot better. ShadowPlay is going to really come in handy for that 😀

HTML5 only? 1080p only?

Why would you say that ? The sample videos play in flash for me and its already possible to upload in 4k. Maybe they start with lower resolution and up it to 4k later on or something.

Finally, ditching Flash player 😀

60 fps backs in Youtube, ~4 years after 35 fps capped - I remember I have watched videos to get 60 fps in ~2008 to 2010 (but I can't remember date). 😀

if there's one thing the new console generation has taught me is that 24 fps are needed for a true cinematic experience i hope they revert the changes

Hopefully less people will complain that 30 FPS looks like 60 FPS lol.

Da hell? 35? youtube was always capped at 29.970, it was never 35, and it was certainly never 60 in 2008 to 2010, you could upload a 60 but it will make it 29.970 and motion blur will look weird.

I can't see any difference between the sample videos and any other YT video

Don't need it to be 60fps here, plays fine 😀

Watching the videos on YouTube, it seems that there is still some trouble getting 60FPS to work correctly; often, the video defaults back to 30FPS, even if for a while in the same stream. To make sure the video is running at 60FPS, download the video using a YouTube video downloader such as YTD Video Downloader, then play the file using a proper media player (I use MPC-HC). The difference is enormous, as expected. I've been shooting 1080p 60FPS videos on my Xperia Z2 for a while and at this point I can't care about 1080p 30FPS and 4K 30FPS video recording because 1080p 60FPS video is so ridiculously smooth.

Yea that works, don't like it though, looks like everything is filmed from a camcorder or I've set Active Vision on my TV to max

Most of us have gotten far too used to 30FPS. Recording at 60FPS means we can tone down the *artificial* motion blur in order to hide things. For game recording, there's no way back. For movies, it will take some time for them to pin it down. I've been recording 60FPS videos on my Z2 and there's no way I'd go back to recording at 30FPS.

I can see it looking good for recording like on your phone, that's how video cameras should look, but for watching movies it makes them look low budget / cheap We play games trying to hit 60fps, so yea we'll definitely get used to watching them back at that speed, but can't see it ever catching on for films / movies EDIT - Our resident / banned nVidia spammer may not like it though, what with youtube having higher FPS than his amazing GTS450

i only watch my movies at 60fps. have been for years. (SVP) if i start looking at 30fps now it seems super boring somehow. I guess its just what you are used to
