I bet this is actually an NSA 'backdoor' put in my MS, so if they confiscate your xbox, they'll be able to get in easily if you dont give your p-word to them so they can see all your terririzor links to Al-kinda-but-not-really-associatedness. Thats if the waterboarding doesnt force you to give up your password first* *Please note: That was sarcasm. Id be more concerned if the father was using the xbox's ki***ic as a form of photo-password and the kid got into his dads account that way. Now that'd be an interesting headline: "Boy shows xbox his willy - gets free games".

Great story....not sure about the 'feet not touching the ground" part but great nevertheless. Smart kid.

It's funny that they gave him such a small reward since he's a child. I don't know Microsoft's policies on payments for security, but I've been paid upwards of $1,500 for single reports by Facebook.

http://techn et.microsoft.com/en-US/security/dn425036 A lot more. But I've seen other reports where a critical flaw was found and they tried to skimp out of payment.

So mashing the space bar wins him a prize, smart kid, maybe we can give him an award for excellence in participation just for showin up.

Ok, next time you find a security flaw so simple it's been overlooked we'll be sure to marginalise that as well.

Yep, I pretty much figured it would be a lot more since it's Microsoft and not just some web company. They REALLY screwed this kid over here. I'm sure he was happy and all, but a security flaw like this I would estimate at worth at least $5,000 and probably more. Thing is, if you don't really have knowledge of these programs you'll think some video games in exchange is a good deal. Microsoft made out like thieves on this one. This is one of those flaws that people like me dream of finding when we are looking for them, as something like this is a jackpot.
