Recent information reveals that Ubisoft has revised its stance on removing inactive accounts with purchased games, contrary to a previous statement made on its support Twitter account.

Initially, there were concerns among gamers when a Twitter user claimed to have received an email from Ubisoft warning about the potential closure of inactive accounts, resulting in the loss of all purchased games.

Ubisoft's support account had confirmed this issue and provided a solution, stating that users could prevent account closure by logging in within 30 days of receiving the email and clicking the "Undelete" link.

However, Ubisoft has now clarified the situation, stating that while they do close inactive accounts in compliance with EU GDPR laws, it will not affect accounts with linked purchases. The company takes various factors into account before removing accounts, including previous PC game purchases. Accounts with purchased games will not be removed, and to date, they have not deleted inactive accounts that are less than 4 years old.
