SanDisk Extreme MicroSD 1TB UHS-I Card can be preordered for $449.99

SanDisk Extreme MicroSD 1TB UHS-I Card can be preordered for $449.99

Crucial and Western Digital (Sandisk) announced that they are developing SD cards with a capacity of a staggering  erabyte. SanDisk activated a product page on its site about that MicroSD card, for preorder.

The SanDisk Extreme microSD UHS-I 1 TB will see sequential read speeds of 90 MB per second, and writes at 60 MB per second. That means it meets the UHS speed class 3 and speed class 30 for video (V30).

Capture more fast action and record more Full HD or 4K UHD video(2) with your Android based smartphone, interchangeable-lens camera, drone or GoPro® action camera. The SanDisk Extreme microSD UHS-I Cards are built tough for extreme durability under challenging environmental conditions(4). Extreme speeds let you capture every detail of adventure and take the wait out of transferring your videos between devices. Expand your device's memory and let you record 4K UHD video.

  • Built for extreme conditions temperature proof, water proof, shock proof, and x-ray proof(3)
  • Delivers 4K Ultra HD and Full HD video recording and playback(1)
  • Meets the new UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and UHS Video Speed Class 30 (V30) for 4K UHD(4)
  • Transfer faster with read speeds up to 90MB/(5)
  • Up to 1TB2 for more space to catch the thrill
  • Capacity: 1TB
  • Read Speed: up to 90MB/s(5)
  • Write Speed: up to 60MB/s(5)

The price tag steep though: 450 US dollars. It can now be pre-ordered in the US on the SanDisk website, and comes with a lifetime warranty, well 30 years in Germany and Canada. Lifetime warranty in regions not recognizing "limited" warranty. Expect availability in late April. Amazing though that they can fit 1024 GB on that incredibly small microSDHC card.

SanDisk or all companies need to produce V90/UHS-II SD cards for DLSR cameras. The fastest rated cards stop at 128gb! Sure there is 512gb versions, but the read/write speeds are far too slow.

I have x8 of these Sandisk Extreme Pro 128 GB 300mb/s UHS-II Class 10 U3 SDXC cards.

I don't care about Micro -SD cards for mobile phones.

Come on SanDisk make 1TB versions of these cards for DSLR cameras please!

Most DSLRs write really slow to SD cards. A D850 writes at 90mb/s max to it's SD card. A faster card won't help you out.
Even the A7III tops out at 147mb/s.

There is no camera that can take advantage of a 300mb/s SDcard right now and the majority of cameras out there write way slower than 60mb/s.
Even Pro bodies with CF cards don't write at 300mb/s.

HOORAY!
i've been waiting on this.
i love photography, but this is going to be 100% audio for my lossless files.
right now the 512gb sdxc has dropped in price almost 50% vs the release almost a year ago.
i'm extremely tired of choosing which artists to carry on my phone, now i can have enough of my library not to care.
and my phone has has unlimited compatibility w/ sdxc up to the theoretical limit of 2Tb
