Introduction

SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Headset

SteelSeries, a Danish manufacturer founded in 2001, has a broad range of PC components and peripherals. That included the headsets. Last time we checked the Arctis Nova Pro, a high-end model. In this review – the less expensive one in the series. Arctis Nova 7 Wireless headset will undergo our investigation. It was presented in September ’22. It also comes in dedicated PlayStation (Nova 7P with a blue inner headband), Xbox edition (Nova 7X with a green inner headband, and native Xbox support).

What makes this product stand out besides an attractive look? The Nova 7 Wireless (High Fidelity) drivers have a frequency response range of 20 Hz to 22 kHz, and the impedance is 36 Ohm.
It is possible to use the three types of connectivity:

  • 2.4 GHz wireless
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Wired (3.5 mm aux)

Swapping the pocket-size USB-C dongle is possible, bringing the 2.4 GHz wireless for the PC, Mac, Playstation, or Switch. There’s a USB-A adapter for maximum flexibility. The SteelSeries Sonar Audio Software Suite gives you X-Ray Hearing to identify footsteps and other essential in-game sounds. The 360° Spatial Audio lets you specify the direction of your next move. The On-Ear controls enable volume control, chat mix dial, power, pairing, Bluetooth, and mute. The battery had 38 hours of playback (using the 2.4 GHz, 26 hours with 2.4 GHz + Bluetooth). The USB-C Fast charge function brings 6 hours of use after 15 minutes. The microphone is bidirectional and retractable. ClearCast Gen 2 mic reduces background noise by up to 25 dB. Its frequency response is 100-6500 Hz, and its sensitivity is -38 db.

The Arctis Nova 7 Wireless is built to last with relatively lightweight (325g) and durable materials, plus (cloth) memory foam ear pads designed for long-lasting comfort. The headphone’s impendence is 38 Ohms. Inside the Arctis Nova 7 Wireless, 40 mm Audio drivers should deliver excellent sound. The sensitivity is 93 dB. Using Sonar Audio Software Suite, you should have a total sound immersion with 360° Spatial audio*. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless is compatible with the SteelSeries GG software.
