MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Suprim X Liquid review

You have already read a lot about GeForce RTX 4090. But we finish our review run on a high note with the amazing SUPRIM Liquid X. A card that takes up only two slots and is water cooled, resulting in cool temperatures, low acoustics, and a stunning design product. MSI is selling the GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X edition graphics card that has been over-engineered. The significant power distribution is extremely fine-tuned for a product in this enthusiast level, and the card is quiet, oh so quiet. That is in addition to 24 GB of the most powerful GDDR6X RAM money can buy.

While we all had a reasonably dull year in terms of technology, Q3/Q4 2022 is loaded with new released. Among them is NVIDIA's first ADA GPU architecture graphics card for the consumer market. The business has unveiled its new GPU design for next-generation gaming PCs. In the short term, two or three variants of GPUs are expected in the first launch wave, each one will outperform the Ampere 3000 series somehow. NVIDIA's RTX 4000 GPUs will provide impressive performance, but next-gen graphics cards may have to contend with alternatives like AMD's rDNA 3 and Intel's Arc Alchemist. The GeForce RTX 4090 is Nvidia's flagship model in the new series. With a base frequency of 2.23 GHz and a boost clock of 2.52 GHz the card will feature 16384 Shader processor cores. These cards will be fitted with a grand 24GB GDDR6X graphics memory that communicates over a 384-bit wide memory bus. The graphics card has a 450W TBP (total board power). Secondly, the company will release two distinct GeForce RTX 4080 versions. GeForce RTX 4080 12GB with GDDR6X RAM and a Lovelace GPU with 7680 CUDA cores will be the "entry-level model." It has 2.31GHz clock speeds and a turbo frequency of 2.61GHz. The RTX 4080 12GB has a 192-bit memory interface and 285W maximum power use. Nvidia also announces a 16GB model of the RTX 4080. This will get more memory and a more powerful GPU with 9728 CUDA cores. This card's clock speed is 2.21 GHz, with a boost clock of 2.51 GHz. This card will also have a 256-bit memory bus and a tbp of 320W. Both RTX 4080 graphics cards will be available in November. Nvidia will release Founders Editions of the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 16GB graphics cards. Only customized variants of board partners of the RTX 4080 12GB will be sold.

MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Suprim X Liquid

MSI never ceases to amaze us with their products and design, this round the SUPRIM Liquid X promises to deliver a lot. The MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X sports the same divine look as the RTX 30-series air-cooled cards, with a 2-tone brushed-aluminium appearance on the cooler shroud and backplate. MSI provides the card with the highest level of factory overclocking and the VRM to match.  We can already share with you that it's the fastest 4090 we have tested. Not just that, it's also the most silent one if you choose the default silent BIOS mode. There is a gaming BIOS mode as well, slightly noisier, but that keeps this card even at or under 60 Degrees C. Amazing values really. MSI provided the card with a semi-passive e.g. hybrid design; once the GPU warms up, the fans begin to spin and cool through a 240mm radiator. However, a fan is also present on the card itself, giving residual components a slight breeze of air.  In silent mode we're measuring just 31~32 DBa in acoustic testing to give you an idea. MSI upped both the power consumption allowance (TGP) also, and the turbo clock frequency has the fastest clock speed on the market at 2625MHz. Tweaked we see it hit 3.0 GHz. The memory operates at an effective speed of 21 Gbps. The thickness is one advantage of going liquid. With a length of only 27.5 cm, this is the shortest RTX 4090 we have tested, although that is only the component that fits into the PCIe slot. The radiator and tubing are components of the card.   With these values and other high-end components in mind, it would be great if you used this graphics card with at least a decent 850 Watt PSU. With a (total) weight of almost 2.4kg, this baby is imrpessive. You will get a free mouse mat. But, hey, judge for yourself, and let us start this review, shall we?
