So do you see the three white compartiments ? These are in fact drive bays that can hold two HDDs each. The Node 304 accommodates up to six hard drives. These mounting brackets can removed.
Here we removed one of them. You place the HDD or SSD onto it and secure it with four screws at the backside of the storage unit. The HDD rests on rubber mounts so again noises resonating should not be an issue. Overall this method works really well.
Looking at the backside for a second again, at the top side we can see the one 140mm fan, these are included and installed for you already. Notice that to the upper right there is a small switch ? That is a fan controller, it's for all 3 fans included and allows you to put the fan RPM at 3, 5 or 12 Volts. Even at low RPM these fans offer quite a bit of airflow whilst creating very little noise. Me likey.
Once we zoom in a bit, you can see the two Front mounted 92mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fans, 1300 RPM speed (compatible with 80mm fans).
You'll get 2 PCI slots to play around with so in theory you can house a graphics cards in here, you will have to forfeit on one HDD bay though to create the space needed. To the left of the fan you can see a tiny PCB, that's the fan controller. you connect it towards a Molex cable from the power supply and then the three fans connect to this.
