Fractal Design Focus G review - Product Showcase

Alright, as always we begin with packaging. It's a simple yet informative thing to show as when you purchase a chassis, honestly you do not want any defects and scratches on it. The Focus G is packaged in cardboard.

Once you take the unit out of the cardboard box you'll notice two layers of foam protecting the unit, which on its end is covered in a plastic bag. Packaging was done decently, risk on damage is fairly minimal.

Included in the bundle is the standard gear like screws, standoffs and zip-ties, most nice and black by the way, we like that. You will also receive standoff strips for easier mounting, that is a nice detail.

Once unpacked, we see a little better what the chassis is all about. The chassis is made out of a steel structure with black face-plate/bezel. There's room for two 5.25" devices. The front hasn't a door anymore. With no access it basically functions as front size bezel / face / mesh plate, you can remove it. You will probably already have noticed this, but the chassis (dark grey) and the bezel differ a tiny bit in color (dark black).

On this photo you can see the color difference a little better. I am not sure if that is done by design. The Focus G chassis can house ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards, the mini version just ITXC and Micro ATX. The Net weight is roughly 5kg depending on the SKU you choose (Window/closed panel). Style kicks in with a nice black design and top side buttons. No fan controller though, everything with this chassis is simple and a bit more "budget" minded.
