Doing it Guru style ...

Doing it doggy Guru style ...

Now .. this is Guru3D and we do like our hardware a little more 'extreme'. Since we have a handful of ATI cards lying around in the lab, why not put the PCIe slots to good use ?

Let's pop in say three Radeon HD 5870 cards? Now we overclock them all to 900 MHz and 5200 MHz on the memory. Then we overclock the processor to 4.5 GHz again and sure ... we overclock the memory to 1800 MHz CAS8.

And yea .. I like to call this the 'Hilbert fun page'. What would 3DMark Vantage return for a P score then, eh?

Correctemundo .. we reach nearly 40.000 points in the overall P score and that's a steep 37740 on the pure GPU score. That certainly gives me taste for some more. Let's look at Far Cry 2 as well, same settings as before ...

There you have it, Far Cry 2 in DX10 mode with 4x AA (anti-aliasing) and 16x AF (anisotropic filtering). Yummie !

And the one title that completely blows in ATI Multi-GPU setups (because is scales so horrendously). Crysis Warhead does benefit a bit here as well. But for three 5870 cards that's .. meeeh.

Let's do one more.

So I got excited ...  it happens when you play around with hardware like this, This is battlefield Bad Company 2, 8x AA and 16xAF, all Image quality settings set at high. Oh yeah ... scrumptious, delicious .. brilliant really. Average scaling though. But ATI needs to work on this title.

Suffice to say, I included this little page just for fun, as that what this motherboard is all about. Fun and extreme things. This is the kind of stuff you can expect and achieve with a motherboard like the R3E, brilliant stuff.
