Product Showcase
Alright, it's time for some photos. We received the two Ryzen 3 processors. Once you have one in your hand you realize these are a little heavy. They should be, with eight (physical) cores.
The Ryzen 3 1200 processor clocks in at a base-clock of 3.1 GHz, yet can Turbo to 3.4 GHz depending on load levels versus active threads. The 1300X clocks in at a base-clock of 3.4 GHz, yet can Turbo to 3.7 GHz depending on load levels versus active threads, and can Turbo to 3.8~3.9 GHz even (with the right conditions).
Given it's an 8-core architecture (with 4 cores disabled), AMD is really nicely managing that clock frequency. Not bad for 109 and 129 USD really.
For pure proper value we'd recommend that you match this CPU with a cheapo B350 motherboard really, that should cost you like € 100,- / USD. Such a combo would bring you tremendous value. Tweak it a little, pop in a mainstream graphics card and you'll have a very sweet gaming rig.
We test with X370 today, this is the C6H from ASUS. We'll only use heat-pipe cooling with 1 fan (Noctua) as these processors do not run hot at all, even when tweaked / overclocked.
