Pioneer introduced two new Blu-ray writer drives that are capable of writing 100GB Blu-ray XL discs at a speed of 4x CLV maximum. Dubbed as the BDR-PR1M and BDR-PR1MA, both Blu-ray players support up to 4x write for all BD discs, 6x for DVD and 16x for CD. Their main difference is that the BDR-PR1M can be used to check the quality of a recorded disc, right after burning.

Google's Street View has submerges, that's right .. underwater locations. In partnership with The Catlin Seaview Survey, Mountain View created the on-rails snorkeling experiences using undersea pictures from Heron, Lady Elliot and Wilson Islands at the Great Barrier Reef, Molokini Crater and Hanauma Bay in Hawaii and the Apo Islands in the Philippines. Combined with views from Chichen Itza and Teotihuacan, the new underwater tours might make for a respectable, desk-based vacation. Check the video after the break.

SEGA has released the debut gameplay trailer for Creative Assembly's upcoming Total War game, Total War: Rome II. The sequel promises to combine the most expansive turn-based campaign and the largest, most cinematic real-time battles yet seen in any game, and if this gameplay trailer is anything to go by, it will able to achieve something like that. Total War: Rome II is scheduled for a 2013 release, exclusively on the PC.

Looks like Ubisoft is keeping word to their earlier announcements, and respect for that. They released minimum, recommended, and high-performance system requirements for the game, which are a bit stringent alright. Which indicates great graphics. It was also announced that the game will implement a revised Uplay DRM scheme that needs a one-time activation, and doesn't require you to stay logged-in when playing the single-player campaign.

Sources from motherboard makers close to to DigiTimes that shipments of motherboards are expected to suffer a decline in the second half of this year compared to the first half. Demand is weaker than anticipated, and the desktop PC market is seeing increased competition from other product segments like notebooks and tablets. In the past, both holidays used to significantly stimulate motherboard demand and helped raise motherboard players' shipments in third and fourth quarters, but in 2012, the holidays have not yet provided any benefit toward motherboard demand in the second half.

Toshiba has released the new MQ01ABD series hybrid hard drives, for notebooks though. Built in the 2.5-inch 9.5 mm-thick form-factor, the drives embed a dual-platter hard drive with 8 GB of SLC NAND flash memory, and 32 MB cache for the hard drive component. The hard drive component has a maximum spindle speed of 5,400 RPM. Rockstar Games' upcoming Grand Theft Auto V (GTA5) is one of the most anticipated game titles. Set in a fictionalized version of Los Angeles named "Los Santos", the upcoming GTA promises to deliver one of the largest open world games ever. The official release window is projected for March 2013, but in a note sent to investors, Robert W.
