2000 employees riot Foxconn closes Taiyuan plant

Reports on the web indicate that around 2,000 Foxconn workers rioted at the company's Taiyuan plant in northern China. Reuters received word that Foxconn closed the plant today for investigation. The cause of the incident, which injured 40 people, is believed to be related to a personal dispute between several employees, it broke out around 11 p.m. local time on Sunday in a privately managed dormitory, and was brought under control by local police around 3 a.m. reportedly guards had been beating up a worker. Specifications of three of Intel's upcoming "Centerton" Atom processors for the server market have surfaced. These chips will have a sub-10W TDP, they target microservers and will start shipping in Q4 2012.Atom "Centerton" chips will integrate two "Saltwell" CPU cores, single-channel memory controller, PCI Express 2.0 interface, and several I/O components. Each CPU core will have its own dedicated 32KB instruction and 24 KB data L1 caches, and 512 KB L2 cache.

Square Enix is releasing DLC for Sleeping Dogs, they've just release a trailer for two new expansions that are due in October. The Street Racer pack adds street-racing, which apparently includes boats now. And the SWAT pack brings 20 new cop missions. Further, the Tactical Soldier pack will add a new powerful weapon and armor set, the Community Gift pack has some free content direct from United Front Games, and details about the first story-driven expansion will arrive on Oct. 14 at New York Comic-Con. Pricing and exact release dates will be announced shortly.

Dell has rolled out five new 2013 S Series monitors namely the 27-inch S2740L, the 24-inch S2440L, the 23-inch S2340L and the 21.5-inch S2240L and S2240M. The S2740L, S2340L, S2240L, S2240M are IPS models that provide a 7ms response time and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, while the S2440L is a VA model that offers a 5ms response time and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio.

Pricing of AMD's upcoming Piledriver-based "Vishera" FX-series processors have hit the web. These prices aren't official though, they are the pre-order prices from a store named BLT. BLT store recently started to take pre-orders on four AMD FX "Vishera" chips, models FX-8350, FX8320, FX-6300 and FX-4300 that are priced at $253, $242, $175 and $131, respectively. While the FX-8350 and FX-6300 were expected to be released in the first group of the new FX processors, the other two were not supposed to be launched in the first consignment, which shows that AMD has adjusted its plans.
