Epic executives Mark Rein and Paul Meegan have revealed via Twitter that the next game in the long-running Unreal Tournament franchise will debut next Thursday via a Twitch TV livestream. The new Unreal Tournament game will be the first major PC and console title the studio has unveiled since Chinese online giant Tencent acquired a significant stake in the company.

The most recent prior installment of the franchise is Unreal Tournament III, which was released by Midway for the PC and PlayStation 3 in 2007, and Xbox 360 in 2008. It served a showcase for the company's Unreal Engine 3.
