Seagate's Game Drive PS5 NVMe SSD, an officially licensed M.2 SSD for the PlayStation 5, was announced on October 3, 2023. This product comes in two capacities: 1TB and 2TB. The controller used is the Phison E18, with 3D TLC NAND flash and exclusive firmware optimized specifically for the PlayStation 5.

To prevent speed reduction due to thermal throttling, it includes a proprietary thin heatsink. Here are the performance specifications for the two models:

  • 1TB Model:

    • Maximum Sequential Read: 7,300MB/s
    • Maximum Sequential Write: 6,000MB/s
    • Maximum Random Reads: 800,000 IOPS
    • Maximum Random Writes: 1,000,000 IOPS
