Samsung is expected to integrate Intel's forthcoming Lunar Lake processor into its upcoming Galaxy Book 5 Pro, a high-end notebook designed for portability and performance. The Lunar Lake processor, part of Intel's new low-power mobile series, is anticipated to launch by the end of 2024. It aims to replace the low-power variants in Intel's lineup, complementing the existing "Meteor Lake" series. Lunar Lake will feature an 8-core configuration, split evenly between Performance and Efficient cores, and will be the first to include Intel's new Xe2 graphics architecture, marking a significant advancement in integrated GPU technology.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro, identified in development through SiSoftware Sandra database entries, is Samsung's premium laptop model based on the "Lunar Lake" architecture. Unlike the Ultra series, the Pro variants focus on combining ultra-slim design with high efficiency, and may not always feature discrete graphics. The upcoming Book 5 Pro is expected to continue this trend, offering a balance of performance and design suited for high-end portable computing. Historically, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro series has evolved with each iteration, incorporating the latest Intel processors and graphics technologies:

  • Book Pro 2021: Utilized Intel's 11th Gen "Tiger Lake" with NVIDIA MX450 graphics.
  • Book2 Pro 2022: Featured Intel's 12th Gen "Alder Lake" with Iris Xe graphics.
  • Book3 Pro 2023: Included Intel's 13th Gen "Raptor Lake" with Iris Xe graphics.
  • Book4 Pro 2024: Adopted Intel's 1st Gen Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" with Arc Graphics (Xe-LPG).
  • Book5 Pro 202x: Expected to use Intel Core "Lunar Lake" with Arc Graphics (Xe2-LPG).

A notebook prototype, designated as "Samsung 999JZR Galaxy Book5 Pro (Samsung NT940XGK-DSD)", has been reported with an 8-core configuration, suggesting a blend of Skymont (E-Core) and Lion Cove (P-Core) technologies, with clock speeds ranging from 1.6 GHz to 2.8 GHz. The integrated graphics are anticipated to feature 512 shaders and 64 vector engines, powered by 4 Xe2 cores, indicating a substantial boost in graphics performance with a potential clock speed of 1.85 GHz for the GPU.

While no official release date has been set for the Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Series, it is highly likely to be among the first wave of products announced alongside Intel's "Lunar Lake" launch. The prototype's presence in benchmark databases confirms its development stage, utilizing engineering samples to refine performance and features ahead of its official unveiling.
