Microsoft may be planning a refresh of the Xbox Series S in late 2022 with an updated 6 nm AMD APU. The refresh APU based on 6nm technology likely yields better allows Microsoft to enable all 24 Compute Units on the APU, as opposed to the present maximum of 20 Compute Units that are enabled.

Aas such the 6nm soc in this Series S console may offer better specs than the current Series S. The user claims that this change to TSMC's 6nm node will result in improved yields, which would allow Microsoft to employ the entire 24 computing units of the SoC. This new variation also could see an increased clock speed.

The headline of Moore's Law is Dead says that the console update will have a more expensive pricing. The new Xbox Series S, which is improved from the present Xbox Series S, will retail for $349, an increase of $50. This expensive legacy option can be offered for between $189 and $249.
