The AMD Radeon RX 7900 Golden Rabbit Edition (GRE) chipset was initially designed for the Chinese market but has now expanded to other Asian regions and Europe. A GIGABYTE model resembles the RX 7800 XT Gaming OC but is more compact than the RX 7900 XT Gaming OC version. It features a triple-slot WindForce 3X cooling system, including a dual aluminum fin-stack heatsink, copper base plate, four heat pipes, and three 80 mm fans. The dimensions of the card are about 30 cm in length, 13 cm in height, and 5.6 cm in width, requiring two 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

Constructed on the AMD Navi 31 XL silicon, the RX 7900 GRE utilizes a chiplet-based GPU architecture that allows for a compact size comparable to the Navi 32, fitting AMD's design approach for the mobile RX 7900 series. The RX 7900 GRE features 80 RDNA3 compute units, amounting to 5,120 stream processors, and includes 160 AI accelerators, 80 Ray accelerators, and 320 Texture Mapping Units (TMUs), with a full set of 192 Raster Operation Pipelines (ROPs). Equipped with 64 MB of Infinity Cache and using a 256-bit memory interface, the card supports 16 GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory, achieving a memory bandwidth of 576 GB/s. The Total Board Power (TBP) is 260 W, consistent with the RX 7800 XT, and the GIGABYTE Gaming OC variant is expected to have a slight factory overclock to boost performance.

Update: In the UK market, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB reference model has recently appeared, albeit briefly and with limited stock availability. E-tailer AWD-IT Gaming PC (ADMI Ltd.) became the first retailer in the region to offer XFX's Navi 31 XL partner card. The Radeon RDNA 3 GPU, previously exclusive to the Chinese market, has now made its way to the West as of late last year, but its retail presence in Europe remains limited. However, recent indications suggest potential changes, with rumors hinting at upcoming custom options. GIGABYTE is preparing a Gaming OC variant, which could lead to a broader release through mainstream channels. Additionally, PowerColor's Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 GRE OC model has been spotted on European price comparison engines.

Initially, UK buyers had access to a small batch of XFX Radeon RX 7900 GRE Reference graphics cards, priced at £659.99 each, bundled with a digital copy of AVATAR: Frontiers of Pandora. Meanwhile, the XFX Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB SPEEDSTER MERC 310 model is currently discounted at £699.99 through Ebuyer UK, presenting an enticing option with higher specs for just £40 more than the RX 7900 GRE.
