At the IEM Sydney event, an Australian overclocking team managed to overclock an Intel Core i9-14900K Raptor Lake series processor to 8 GHz on its P-cores. Paired with an RTX 4090 GPU, this setup propelled the game Counter-Strike 2 to frame rates oscillating between 900 and 1300 FPS, peaking at 1310 FPS.

Roger Chandler, the Vice President and General Manager of Enthusiast PC and Workstation at Intel's Client Computing Group, was present to observe the overclocking process. Notably, the team utilized liquid nitrogen as a cooling medium for the processor during the event. This is not the first time such feats have been achieved with Intel processors. There have been instances where the Core i9-14900KF has been pushed to 9.1 GHz, establishing a new benchmark in the overclocking community.

These benchmarks, while impressive, do not reflect the standard operational capacity of these CPUs. Overclocking to such extents is a specialized endeavor and is not advisable for individuals without the requisite expertise and equipment.
