Assembling a computer is a source of immense joy for gamers, but cable management often poses complex challenges. MSI's recently introduced PROJECT ZERO series sets out to tackle these issues head-on. By relocating the majority of cable connectors to the rear of the motherboard, PROJECT ZERO motherboards offer a solution where cables can be concealed. This not only elevates the cleanliness and aesthetics of the front but also significantly simplifies cable management, thereby transforming the assembly process into a delightful experience.

Simultaneously, MSI has unveiled PROJECT ZERO-compatible chassis, aligning with the design philosophy of simplicity and elegance when used in conjunction.

The PROJECT ZERO series motherboards sport a silver-white design with expansive heatsinks, exuding a clean and streamlined appearance. A range of chipset options are available:

  • Z790 PROJECT ZERO: An ATX motherboard featuring a 14+1 Duet Rail Power System, Lightning Gen 5 PCIe slot, 4x M.2 slots, and Wi-Fi 7.
  • B760M PROJECT ZERO: A Micro-ATX motherboard equipped with a 12+1 Duet Rail Power System, Lightning Gen 5 PCIe slot, 2x M.2 slots, and Wi-Fi 6E.
  • B650M PROJECT ZERO: Featuring a 10+2 direct-out power system, Lightning Gen 4 PCIe slot, 2x M.2 slots, and Wi-Fi 6E.

In contrast to traditional motherboards with front-facing connectors, PROJECT ZERO's Back-Connect design revolutionizes this approach by relocating most connectors to the rear. This simplifies cable management and connections while retaining easily accessible installation points for the CPU, DRAM, and SSD in the front, striking a balance between convenience and aesthetics. This design aims to lower the barrier for users assembling their PCs, making it a straightforward and enjoyable process. It's worth noting that products with Back-Connect designs are not exclusive to MSI but represent a collaborative effort with various chassis brands.

Back-Connect motherboards require specific Back-Connect compatible chassis. MSI has introduced the MAG PANO M100 PZ series chassis, supporting Micro-ATX motherboards in black and white variants. With its 270-degree tempered glass design and Reverse-blade fans, it offers a clear view of the clean interior from multiple angles and ample space for efficient cable management, facilitating the creation of unique PCs.

Additionally, the new MEG MAESTRO 700L PZ chassis is compatible with MSI ATX Back-connect motherboards and general EATX motherboards. Featuring a one-piece curved tempered glass and an aluminum unibody crafted through NCT machining, it elevates the PC case into a work of art. Its dual-chamber design not only enhances thermal performance but also provides more room for cable management. The MEG MAESTRO 700L PZ is a limited edition chassis, soon to be available to enthusiasts.
