MSI has updated its MPG and MEG series ATX3.0 power supplies to include color-coded power cords. This design enhancement facilitates users in accurately determining the secure connection of the connector. The ATX3.0 specification, adopted towards the end of 2022, introduced a new power supply standard including the 12VHPWR interface for graphics cards. This interface stands out for its ability to deliver up to 600W through a single cable, significantly surpassing the traditional 8PIN connector's 150W limit.

The simplified cabling supports 450W to 600W power requirements with a single line, compared to the 3 to 4 lines or an adapter cable needed previously. This advancement has gained traction, especially with the release of RTX 40 series graphics cards. Despite its benefits, the 12VHPWR interface can be challenging to install correctly, potentially leading to various technical issues. To address this, MSI introduced a color-coded power cord design in its MAG A750GL and A850GL PCIE5 power supplies last year, enabling visual verification of a secure connection between the power plug and the graphics card.

Expanding on this initiative, MSI has now extended the color-coded design to the ATX3.0 power supplies within its MPG and MEG series. This update aims to simplify installation and minimize the risk of connectivity-related problems, enhancing the overall reliability of the power supply setup.
