MSI has initiated the development of the Dragon Alliance, a dedicated memory overclocking ecosystem designed to offer a comprehensive suite of overclocking solutions through collaboration with various memory module manufacturers, including Kingston. The objective of the Dragon Alliance is to enhance motherboard performance by ensuring compatibility and optimization between motherboards and memory modules. This involves rigorous Quality Vendor List (QVL) compatibility testing and further research to refine performance and usability, aiming to support DDR5-8000+ memory speeds.
In conjunction with the establishment of the Dragon Alliance, MSI has introduced the Z790MPOWER motherboard, marking the return of the MPOWER series with a focus on memory overclocking. The Z790MPOWER is designed with a microATX form factor and features a simplified configuration with two memory slots. This design choice, coupled with an optimized signal line layout, aims to minimize signal attenuation and facilitate higher memory overclocking frequencies, thereby enhancing the motherboard's overclocking potential.
