Earlier this year, MSI introduced support for 192 GB memory capacity on its motherboards. The company has now further advanced this capability by enabling support for up to 256 GB memory on 4 DIMM slot motherboards and 128 GB on 2 DIMM slot motherboards. This development offers users increased flexibility for multitasking and improved computing performance. This advancement is a result of MSI's collaboration with leading memory manufacturers, specifically involving the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 memory, which features a 64 GB capacity per module. The memory is developed using Micron's 1β (1-beta) technology, marking a new level of capacity for dual-channel PCs.
MSI is currently in the process of ensuring full compatibility and support for the increased 256 GB memory capacity. Updates regarding compatible platforms and BIOS adjustments will be announced by MSI in due course.
