Intel Skylake Processors available in 2H 2015 get DDR3 and DDR4 support

A roadmap appeared on the web earlier yesterday showing some interesting information regarding Intel Skylake Processors. They are to be released in 2015 and Skylake processors would have both DDR3 and DDR4 memory controllers. The processor will be combined with a series 100 Intel chipset. Skylake processors would be compatible with the latest LGA 1151 socketed boards and Z170 chipset which is part of the new 100-Series chipset.

Skylake, as well as Broadwell will be baked using 14-nanometer technology. The new processors will get enhanced graphics controllers, and further improvements on energy consumption.

Earlier rumors also indicated that Skylake would get four types of wireless communication: Snowfield Peak-enabled Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Douglas Peak supporting WiGig and Bluetooth, Pine Peak networks WiGig XMM726x networks and 4G LTE. As it stands right now, Skylake willbe reaching the market in the second half of 2015, alongside Broadwell.
