Intel is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated Emerald Rapids Xeon series, and as the launch date approaches, a trove of new details has emerged through leaks. In particular, two prominent models have captured the spotlight: the Xeon 8592+ Platinum and the Xeon 8558U processor, both offering impressive core counts.

The Xeon 8592+ Platinum is poised to be a flagship model within the lineup, boasting a remarkable 64 cores and 128 threads. This powerhouse processor operates at a base frequency of 1.9 GHz, with the potential to dynamically ramp up to an impressive boost frequency of up to 3.9 GHz. Notably, it features an extensive cache hierarchy, comprising 120 MB of L2 cache and a whopping 320 MB of L3 cache, summing up to a staggering 488 MB in total. When it comes to power, this CPU carries a thermal design power (TDP) rating of 350 Watts, with the option to configure it for even higher performance demands, pushing the TDP to 420 Watts.

On the other hand, the Xeon 8558U, which has made appearances in Geekbench listings, presents a configuration with 48 cores and 96 threads. Its base clock speed is registered at 2.0 GHz, although the boost frequency remains undisclosed, hinting at its status as an engineering sample currently undergoing testing. This processor is equipped with a cache setup that includes 96 MB of L2 cache and 260 MB of L3 cache, culminating in a substantial cache offering of 356 MB, inclusive of L1D and L1I caches.

Both of these formidable processors are slated for an official release as part of the 5th generation Xeon Scalable family, codenamed Emerald Rapids. The target launch date for these high-performance processors is set for December 14 of the current year, promising significant advancements in the realm of server and data center computing.
