BenQ Set to Launch Pre-Calibrated 31.5-Inch 4K PD3225U Monitor for Video Editors

BenQ announced the upcoming release of the PD3225U, a 31.5-inch 4K LCD monitor designed specifically for video editors and content creators. This model, part of BenQ's AQCOLOR series, is intended to succeed the PD3220U and offers enhanced features suitable for creative professionals. The monitor is set to be available from April 8th, with pricing to be determined at launch. The PD3225U utilizes an IPS panel with 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), providing high brightness levels up to 400 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 2000:1. It covers a wide color gamut, with 98% Display P3/DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB/Rec.709, ensuring accurate color reproduction and natural gradation. The monitor also supports HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400 standards for improved dynamic range.

BenQ has incorporated a unique technology to correct unevenness, guaranteeing uniform brightness and color across the screen. The display is factory calibrated to achieve a color accuracy of ΔE≤2. For enhanced productivity, the PD3225U features multiple editing modes, including a "Design mode" that adjusts brightness in ten steps for optimal visibility. Additional functionalities catered to video editing include Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) capabilities. The monitor also prioritizes eye care, offering blue light reduction and flicker-free technology. The technical specifications include a color depth of approximately 1.07 billion colors, a 5ms response time (GTG), and 178° viewing angles both horizontally and vertically. Connectivity options comprise DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and Thunderbolt 3, the latter also delivering up to 85W power for device charging and featuring a KVM switch function. The PD3225U measures about 714.8 mm in width, 273.3 mm in depth, and an adjustable height of 478.4 to 628.4 mm, weighing approximately 8.2 kg.
