ASUS will expand its Z790 motherboard series, known for its distinctive designs. Previously released motherboards include the ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero, ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi II, and TUF Gaming Z790-Pro WiFi. The latest addition is the ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore, focusing on overclocking. However, the Formula model has been notably absent from the series since 2022.

The upcoming ROG Formula adheres to a black and white design, aligning with the aesthetic elements of the Z690 series. An initial examination of this model reveals minimal changes in its layout. Core features such as the "ROG Water-Cooling Zone" remain, enabling users to directly integrate a liquid cooling loop for VRM cooling. The board maintains its E-ATX design, housing four DDR5 DIMM slots and two PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. Notably, there is an upgrade in the wireless standard from WiFi-6E (Z690) to WiFi-7.
