ASUS has unveiled the Chromebook CM30 Detachable (CM3001), a 2-in-1 device capable of transitioning between laptop and tablet configurations. This device is equipped with a 10.5-inch touchscreen and features a garaged stylus that is automatically charged when docked. It includes both front and rear cameras, offers a battery life of up to 12 hours, and is equipped with WiFi 6 connectivity.
The CM30 Detachable is constructed to withstand daily wear and tear, complying with US MIL-STD 810H durability standards.
The device's design facilitates multiple modes of use, supported by a magnetic stand and a cover that resists stains, maintaining a clean appearance over time. An optional reinforced case, the Impact Shield, is available for additional protection. The screen is engineered for durability and responsive interaction, designed to handle a million touches.
For performance, the CM30 Detachable is powered by a MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor, supplemented with 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage. It includes a 5 MP front-facing camera for video conferencing and a 5 MP rear-facing camera for capturing images and videos.
Despite its versatility, the CM30 Detachable remains lightweight, with an ergonomic magnetic stand and keyboard. It features a multitouch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which provides an expanded workspace and supports the included stylus.
Sustainability has been a focus in the creation of the ASUS Chromebook CM30 Detachable. It uses recycled aluminium in its construction, operates with energy efficiency that surpasses ENERGY STAR standards, and its packaging complies with FSC certifications.
ChromeOS is the operating system for the CM30 Detachable, offering a suite of applications and features including Google Play access, Adobe Express, Tayasui Sketches, and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. The OS provides automatic updates and virus protection, with the option to manage the device through Chrome Education Upgrade or Chrome Enterprise Upgrade via the Google Admin console.
