AMD has developed a Frame Generation technology termed AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF). Initially showcased in conjunction with FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.0 (FSR3) for titles like Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum, it was a component of the FSR3 framework.

AMD has expanded the application of AFMF, making it accessible as an independent feature in more games. The Adrenalin software facilitates the activation of this feature through a "Fluid Motion Frame" toggle, enabled via a driver-level implementation.

The present version of AMD Fluid Motion Frames is in a preview phase, indicating further refinements before its final release. AMD welcomes input from the gaming community to optimize its performance. For activation, users can employ HYPR-X, an embedded boost option in Radeon drivers, or they can utilize preconfigured game profiles for individualized adjustments.

While AFMF is integrated into 12 games at its inception, it doesn't yet have FSR3 compatibility. The technology remains functional with a Radeon GPU. As a core component of the Radeon graphics driver, there's no current expectation for third-party hardware support for AFMF.

Supported Games for AFMF:

  • A Plague Tale – Requiem
  • Borderlands 3
  • Control
  • Dead Space
  • Deep Rock Galactic
  • Dying Light 2
  • Far Cry® 6
  • Ghostwire: Tokyo
  • Hitman 3
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Horizon Zero Dawn™
  • Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Resident Evil 3
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor™
  • Starfield
  • The Last of Us™ Part 1
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

AFMF's compatibility is confined to the Radeon RX 7000 series, specifically encompassing Radeon™ RX 7900/7800/7700/7600 Series Graphics. It isn't designed to work with other graphic cards.
