Recent information disclosed by @momomo_us, a recognized source in the tech industry, has provided preliminary pricing details for AMD's forthcoming 8000G-series APUs, compatible with the AM5 socket. These APUs are expected to utilize the same CPU cores as AMD's Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000-series CPUs, but with a novel I/O design integrated into a monolithic die. The leaked data encompasses pricing information from three distinct sources for three different SKUs, using the Ryzen 5 7600 as a baseline for comparison.

Notably, the pricing for the Ryzen 5 7600 in these leaks is consistently higher than its current price on Amazon, indicating the possibility that the leaked prices may not reflect the official Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The following are the leaked price ranges for the Ryzen 8000G-series APUs:

  • Ryzen 5 8500G: Estimated between $190 and $240
  • Ryzen 5 8600G: Estimated between $240 and $310
  • Ryzen 7 8700G: Estimated between $340 and $440

Due to the wide price range, it's challenging to ascertain the definitive MSRP. In pursuit of clarity, Tom's Hardware conducted an investigation, pinpointing two retailers of interest. DirectDial, one of these retailers, offered the lowest prices according to the leak. The other retailer, Zones, showed pricing that diverged from the initial leaks, generally skewing towards the upper price range.

AMD is anticipated to officially announce this new series of APUs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) early next year. Further updates, including official pricing, are expected to be released then.
