SSD Performance 64-bit Trace Testing PCMark 8

64-bit Trace Testing PCMark 8

PCMark has a very good test suite to benchmark storage performance. The software will look at tasks you normally perform with your PC and will try to measure what kind of an effect that has on your user experience by testing eight different segments, stressing the storage unit. Much like 7, PCMark8 is once more based on traces. Here we will measure trace tests of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Adobe After Effects, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint but also application load times for World of Warcraft and Battlefield 3. On this page the total score.

Above the combined trace scores of all 10 tests (individually you can see these on the next page).

And above the overall measures bandwidth of all traces. This is a very important marker in terms of performance capacity and continuous throughput under trace loads.
