DX11: Call of Duty: Black Ops II

With the new graphics engine in mind and Keywords like Nuketown and Zombies the first person shooter game which is being developed by Threyarch and published by Activision. It is both a single-player and multiplayer game. Each year we however we complain about that never updated graphics engine, because as PC users .. we want the best eye-candy availble.

Image Quality setting:

  • 4x Anti-Aliasing
  • 16x Anisotropic Filtering
  • All settings set at Quality
  • DirectX 11 enabled

And as you are used to, a performance chart that was introduced in all our graphics card reviews at what we feel is the current standard, the 1920x1200 resolution.

The game changed literally when we are talking image quality. Call of Duty: Black Ops II got a number of visual enhancements over previous games in the franchise. HDR lighting, bounce lighting and self-shadowing. There's also a new texture technique called Reveal Mapping, which is claimed to offer improvements in texture detail. Overall the title looks okay, but still is seriously behind in graphics quality compared to titles as Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor Warfighter.
