Plextor PlexTurbo

Much like brands as Samsung offer these days, Plextor also includes PlexTurbo software. basically you can use a small portion of your system memory as a cache that is placed in front of the SSD. Popular files will be read from the RAM cache, and writing small files towards the SSD will be stored into the RAM cache first. This can speed up performance significantly, but you need to be sceptical here as the performance benefit in real-world is relative and you always need to wonder what happens to the RAM cache with a sudden power-down or power failure even though Plextor seems to have found a trick for that.

So while it definitely can help out your overall performance, be a bit weary and also let me reiterate that the numbers shown below show the RAM memory cache performance and have very little to do with the actual SSD performance. These are pretty pictures though.

Intelligent PlexTurbo Caching
PlexTurbo is an intelligent SSD RAM caching solution using system RAM to accelerate the Plextor M6 PRO storage performance beyond the limitations of the SATA III interface. PlexTurbo is designed to provide three advantages:
