DX9: Hard Reset

DX9: Hard Reset

Hard Reset is a PC-exclusive FPS from The Flying Wild Hog, a Polish developer that is made up from members of the team behind Painkiller (People Can Fly), and former developers from CD Projekt Red and City Interactive.
In development since April 2009, the game features a cyberpunk plot. It draws inspiration from William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Philip K. Dick (especially Blade Runner in story). In gameplay, Serious Sam is the main inspiration; explosive barrels and large hordes of enemies will be prominent within the game. There is no multiplayer.

Hard Reset was added into our benchmark suite as it has a handy to use benchmark mode that is very representative of the in-game graphics engine performance. Above the reference R7970 1 Ghz edition, the GeForce GTX 670 and the MSI version. The default tweak that the Power Edition /OC version has gives the card a bit of an extra kick alright, nice.

MSI GeForce GTX 670 Power Edition

As you can see the GeForce GTX 670 definitely likes DX9 titles. Impressive performance, and as you'll see throughout the test sessions -- the MSI GeForce GTX 670 Power Edition /OC is VERY close to the GTX 680 and mostly in front of the Radeon HD 7970 1 GHz edition as well. The GTX 670 is a serious competitor for the R7900 series to be honest.
