SSD Performance HD Tune PRO | AS SSD Benchmark

HD Tune Pro 4.5

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk utility and benchmarking utility for Windows. This tiny application allows you to scan your hard drives in search for errors or take a deeper look at several performance figured coming from the storage unit.

First off, a file test. We fire off 64MB of data comprising out of sizes ranging from 0,5 KB to 8 MB. Check it out. As you can see, once we pass 32KB file size the drive kicks in hard, marching onwards to 480 MB/sec. Maximum peak writes are roughly ~330 MB/sec, this is 100% on par performance, as advertised.

In HDTune we average out at roughly 294MB/sec and that's actually pretty darn good. Your average HDD would do 45-65 MB/sec here, with a WD VelociRaptor topping off at just over 100~120 MB/sec.

Once we start to measure write performance we see figures reach a continued write performance averaging out at roughly 221 MB/sec. That's a little bit on the low side but still exceptional performance.

The latest edition of HD Tune Pro allows random access read and write testing, a feature not available in other software tools. And this is certainly interesting to observe as that is just lovely performance. The 1 MB reads reached 357 MB/sec in reads.

Overall good write IOPS performance. We get 320MB/sec on 1MB file writes returned. Definitely impressive numbers.
