Above a percentile chart of the 30 seconds @ 2560x1440. Here we plot FPS and place it in relation to percentiles. This methodology could be used to determine average FPS as well.

Check the 50% marker:

  • GTX 780 Ti SLI does roughly 67 FPS on average in this scene sequence
  • R9-290X CFX does roughly 75 FPS on average in this scene sequence

But now lets look at frame latency.

7533_plot

On this 30 second run all graphics cards manages to remain at a very constant rendering flow with fairly low latency for the two fastest cards. We cannot detect any noticeable anomalies like glitches and stutters. This again is a very good result really.

The GTX 780 Ti is showing very smooth frame pacing, but a bottleneck is killing its performance somewhat. A little less frame pacing for Crossfire, but this remains to be very acceptable. For both setups there are no significant enough drops or huge spikes indicating a smooth gameplay. For those that do not understand what you are looking at, the above is a scene rendered, the first 30 seconds of the Hitman integrated benchmark. With this chart, lower = better. Huge spikes above 40ms - 50ms can be considered a problem like a stutter or indicate a low framerate.

And above the framerate versus scene time as recorded in this session for the SLI setup. That is WQHD perfection performance wise, staying above 55 FPS at all times.
