Performance - DDR4 System Memory
Performance System Memory: Memory Read Test
For our memory tests, we have used the kit that AMD supplied, Quad-channel at 3600 MHz at CL16. Typically we make use of 3200 MHz for all tests, however, the Ryzen Threadripper platform is refined with very specific supported memory, ergo we stick to this 64 GB kit. The results are breathtaking really, latency, however, remains somewhat average.
That all said and done, we had issues with (specifically) the 64-core 3990X and running memory at 3600 MHz on this motherboard. The memory is used on ASUS and MSI motherboards in this configuration as well and runs fine. However, the 3990X shows ACPI boot issues every now and then. Moving back from 64 towards the 32 core 3970X solved the issue. We'll discuss this a bit more in the conclusion though as the behaviouristic was odd to say at the very least.
