BioShock Infinite Frame Experience Analysis

Above, the percentile chart of the 30 seconds gaming @ 2560x1440. Here we plot FPS and place it in relation to percentiles.

  • 50% of the time measured frames is doing roughly 40 FPS, so that is the average framerate (higher = better).

Above is a gametime scene recorded for 30 seconds. With this chart, lower = better. Huge spikes above 40ms to 50 ms can be considered a problem like a stutter or indicate a low framerate. As you can see the card shows one minor stutter, yet it is too small to even notice. Likely the game rendering engine.

Who knows what happens in the first second? Correct, that is typical behaviour for VSYNC ON. The internal benchmark starts with VSYNC on and once the scene camera starts moving VSYNC is disabled. Anyway, concluding... All FCAT results are what you can expect for near perfect rendering, aside from the low framerate of course.
