We will be installing the kit on an open test-bench. Everything is included with the kit, including a nice niche SLI connector that lights up when activated.

Each card is factory overclocked and runs at a 1228MHz Core clock frequency with a boost allowance of 1329 MHz. The memory is clocked stock at 7 Gbps. The overclock potential is tremendous though, as we'll show you. The cards each have three full size Display Port connectors, one full size HDMI 2.0 compatible connector and one DVI connector. As said, it is HDMI 2.0 compatible meaning that compatible monitors and tellys can do UHD at 60 Hz, DP is 1.2 but has support for eDP 1.4.

The cards all have two 8-pin headers. So that should allow you to get a little more amperage into the card for hopefully an improved tweaking experience.

So if you've got cash to spend, 3-way SLI just became an option to pursue, though typically we always recommend two cards maximum for the best scaling and as few driver issues as possible. Admittedly, the design looks nice, all dark and blue themed. Tweaked we’ve seen the 980 boards reaching roughly 1.55 GHz (with liquid cooling) on the Turbo clock frequency, very nice but we'll talk more about that later on in this article as we will put that to the test.

After installing OC Guru II software, you can regulate temperature, fan and pump control. It is unfortunate that the box is dependant of this software as it is not exactly the favorite software for many.
