Final Words & Conclusion

Mini PCs really are all about the balance between compactness, features and performance. Mini PCs aren't typically geared towards high-intensity gaming due to their inability to support demanding graphic requirements. Instead, their forte lies in functioning as efficient workstations or student-friendly computing solutions. Their compact form facilitates easy storage, making them an ideal fit for constrained spaces. VESA compatibility allows these devices to be mounted on a screen's back for increased convenience. However, they're getting more powerful with each year that passes.

In performance tests, the Mini IT12 demonstrated competent results, our tested variant with 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD showed respectable performance under load. Gaming-wise, of course, the GEEKOM Mini IT12 isn't inherently a gaming device, as evidenced by its 3DMark performance, but it holds ground well igp wise.

Concluding

The Mini IT12 is powered by a 12th-generation Alder Lake series processor with options of either an Intel Core i5-1240P or an Intel Core i7-1260P, both featuring 12 cores. This Mini PC provides various features, including two USB4 ports, support for multi-display setups up to 8K resolution, and WiFi 6E connectivity.  This Mini PC supports quad display configurations through two USB4 ports (up to 8K@60Hz) and two HDMI 2.0 ports (up to 4K@60Hz). Additionally, it offers dual-band WiFi 6E (Intel AX211) and Bluetooth 5.2, along with a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port. The Mini IT12's array of ports includes three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB 2.0 port, two USB4 ports, an SD card reader, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a 2.5GbE LAN port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DC jack for the 19V power adapter (90W) with a geo-specific AC cord (IEC C5), a power button, and a Kensington lock slot. Also, the Mini IT12 comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro. Priced at $649, the Mini IT12's appeal may falter given the lack of HDMI 2.1a and DDR5 memory support in the 12th gen Intel processor. The device's compact yet robust functionality may make it an appealing choice. It's available for order directly from the manufacturer. The tested model is listed at $639, while a higher-end model (32 GB RAM, 1024 GB SSD) sells for $709.
