The front of Fractal Design Define S2 Vision is equipped with three 140 mm Prisma AL-14 ARGB PWM fans. This is the maximum you can install here. This amount of space is enough to fit even 360 mm radiators.

Instead of removing the plastic cover like in the regular Define S2 (which could be quite difficult sometimes), you need to unscrew the front part of the PSU shroud if you want to install more than a 280 mm radiator at the front.

You can fit a setup with a radiator that’s up to 147 mm thick, but you need to remember that the front fan is concealed behind the chassis frame.

The backside of the Fractal Design chassis looks exactly like that of the regular Define S2 model.

You can see three universal 3.5”/2.5” brackets on the left side.

There are two places for SSDs under the backplate cut-out. There is also routing space for a 23 mm cable (you’d want a bit more), two Velcro straps, and 14 tie-down points (+ 2 on the TG top bracket). All that should help keep things nice and tidy. The standard cables include USB 2.0, 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C (not every motherboard has headers for that), and front panel connectors (including HD audio).

Additionally, there is a SATA cable for powering up the Fan Hub, and a fan cable that needs to be connected to the motherboard to be able to control the RPMs.

The wires are black, which improves the aesthetics of the whole package. It’s possible to use up to nine 4-pin (PWM) fans. You need to connect the fan hub to a port on your motherboard to be able to control the fans. The maximum current is 3A, and maximum power output is 36W. Ok, let’s proceed to the build section.
