So I promised we'd be using that 7+2 mounting slot for a vertically positioned graphics card. For 40 bucks (I know not cheap), Fractal Design offers their Flex VRC-25 PCI Express riser cable kit specially designed for the Define R6 chassis.

The kit is very easy to mount as it the chassis was prepped for it, the riser cable is reasonably flexible and has an EMI shielded overlap with double-sided PCB wiring to ensure zero-latency performance with up to 3x the power delivery of traditional riser cables.

The kit obviously supports PCI-Express 3.0  and is backward compatible with 16x/8x/4x/1x. Once mounted, it is secured to the left side and sits properly secure on the PCI-Expres connector. So the card does not simply 'hang;' there, it really sits securely mounted in the right position.

Quick check, yep ... it didn't burst into flames. Which is good as the 1200 USD card we are giving away in our December competitions :)
