Graphics (VGA) performance Recording Level and IQ settings
Before we begin with the graphics performance tests a little explanation. We use a time based measurement based upon framerate recording. The test is a representative yet stringent on the GPU. Our settings:
For all our graphics performance tests we apply the Quality settigns as discussed at 2xMSAA with all graphics quality settings set at Very HIGH. We confirmed that DX11 is activated.
However, mid-range card will struggle hard at these settings. SO we changed the SSAO mode towards SSAO and the Alpha to Coverage setting has been set at standard.
The graphics cards used for this 2nd itteration of the article are:

Our test setup is based on Intel X58 (MSI Big bang XPower) with 6 GB of DDR3 ( Corsair 1600 MHz) memory. The processor is a Core i7 965 clocked at 3750 MHz. This system is an equivalent to a Core i7 2600 K processor, to the frame precisely actually. We use Windows 7 64-bit SP1 all patched up.Each card runs on the same PC with the same operating system clone. GeForce cards use the latest 310.64 Beta driver and for AMD Radeon graphics cards we used the latest 12.11 Beta build 8 driver.
Let's head onwards to the next page where we'll look at the 1280x768 and 1600x1200 monitor resolution performance first.
